The Pap Research Group is synthesizing silver and gold nanoparticles for Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS). SERS is a surface-sensitive technique that enhances Raman scattering by molecules adsorbed on metal surfaces. The Pap Research Group is developing and functionalizing nanoparticles for low concentration toxin detection.
Labor intense tasks are a major drawback of our research. Our long term goal includes the implementation of advanced robotic platforms to eliminate time-consuming tasks and improve labor efficiency.
